Our approach
In their work with individuals, couples, and families, Self-in-Relationship Psychotherapists understand and address psychological and relational problems from the perspective of unmet
self, relational and physical intimacy needs. It is assumed that the meeting of these needs is the life giving force in an individual’s perception and experience of self and in an individual’s relationships. The goal of therapy is to help individuals to identify their unmet needs and to learn to courageously and affirmatively assert them in their relationships. To help an individual achieve these goals, the psychotherapist in collaboration with the individual or individuals, approaches emotional and relational problems from a developmental, relational, psychodynamic, experiential, cognitive, and behavioural perspective.
