Our Team.

Our professional team consists of experienced psychologists, psychotherapists, and social workers, with graduate degrees, who have, in addition, completed a two-year intensive training in Self-in-Relationship Psychotherapy (SIRP). The members of the team are registered with a regulatory body and have a Certificate in the practice of Self-in-Relationship Psychotherapy. They are caring, empathic, understanding and have as their primary focus to help persons to learn how to manage their struggles and to live life to its fullest.

The distinguishing characteristic of SIRP is that it views emotional and behavioral problems in terms of past and present relationships. It pays particular attention to unmet core human needs that lie at the core of the emotional, behavioral, and relational problems. These problems are addressed in a “good enough therapeutic relationship” where a person feels understood, safe, protected, accepted, and respected. By accessing their unmet core needs and by taking direction from them, the negative feelings, irrational thoughts, and troubling behaviors are transformed and the individual moves toward an authentic life and healthy relationships.

Collectively, our team is highly competent to apply SIRP to individual, couple, family and child psychotherapy. The team offers, as well, clinical supervision, professional courses and training and consultation within a SIRP perspective.
